Do you have a Growth Mindset?
Do you even know what kind of mindset you have?
The two basic types of mindsets are fixed and growth.
If you have a growth mindset it, in essence, means that you believe you can grow and learn and that your talents or ability are not innate and set. With a growth mindset, there is the understanding that we can expand and adapt and become and understand more.
One of the ways to achieve expansion through a growth mindset is through hard work. In addition, growth can come in the form of information from other people. The basic understanding should be that other individuals offer a wealth of knowledge that you might not have. It is important to listen and learns something new whenever you can.
Beyond our self-discovery and discovery through other individuals, an important component is strategic implementation. Basically it is not enough to just want to learn the information and then find avenues to gain the information, but you need to be able to apply the information to a useful purpose. For some, this is a natural progression of the learning process, but for others, it is a skill that can be taught and practiced.
I think the biggest key to a growth mindset is just the willingness to expand yourself beyond your own little bubble. With the acknowledgment that there is more to this world than your finite knowledge base, you are already on the path to a growth mindset.
This is a good thing because statistically when you have a growth mindset, you tend to achieve more and feel more empowered. Let make sure we grow our mindset today!
